5-axis simultaneous machining allows us to produce complex parts that would be impossible or impractical with conventional 3-axis equipment. By rotating both the workpiece and the cutting tool simultaneously, we can access all faces of a part in a single setup.

5-axis is recommended when your part has complex geometries that require machining from multiple angles, undercuts, deep cavities, or when tight tolerances across multiple faces are critical. If your part is primarily prismatic with machining on 2-3 faces, 3-axis is usually more cost-effective.
While the hourly rate for 5-axis machining is higher, the total cost is often lower due to reduced setup time, fewer fixtures, and elimination of secondary operations. For complex parts, 5-axis can actually reduce overall cost.
We machine aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and engineering plastics on our 5-axis centers. Harder materials like titanium and Inconel benefit especially from 5-axis due to optimized tool engagement angles.
