According to our CNC machining knowledge base, aluminum 6061 is widely used for bicycle frames due to its good workability and corrosion resistance, while 7075-T6 offers strength comparable to many steels. For dropouts and fork crowns that see high loads, we typically recommend 7075-T6. For welded BB shells and head tubes, 6061-T6 is preferred for its superior weldability.

While we specialize in metal CNC machining, we machine the aluminum and titanium inserts, dropouts, bottom bracket shells, and hardware that bond into carbon fiber frames. We do not manufacture carbon fiber parts directly, but we are a trusted supplier of the metal interfaces that make carbon frames reliable.

Our standard tolerance is ±0.005mm. For critical bearing seats and thread interfaces, we achieve ±0.003mm concentricity and Class 2B/3B thread fit. Every head tube and BB shell is inspected on CMM with full inspection reports provided.

Hard anodizing Type III is ideal for high-wear parts like dropouts and axle adapters. Type II decorative anodizing works well for visible frame hardware. Titanium parts are typically passivated, while steel components receive electroless nickel or black oxide for corrosion protection. Powder coating and Cerakote are also available through certified partners.
